A 24-year-old woman has been killed by a falling rock on a beach in south Wales.
Emergency services were called to the beach in Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan, at around 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday).
The woman suffered fatal injuries when the rock fell on her head as she was sitting with a friend.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her friend was treated for shock.
A growing problem of coastal erosion along stretches of the Vale of Glamorgan coast have led to calls for safety cordons.
