A late booking hotel website hopes to woo cricket fans to Australia with cheap deals.

Wotif.com is offering discounted hotel rooms and apartments in Australia’s cities during the Ashes in November, December and January. Wotif claims it offers up to 70 percent off the full hotel rate.

Rooms can be booked up to two week’s in advance. Deals include £49 per room for two people at the four-star Holiday Inn Darling Harbour in Sydney, or £72 per room for two people at the five star Melbourne Marriott Hotel.

England’s Ashes test matches start on 7 November in Brisbane, and continue until 2 January. One day internationals are taking place between 13 December and 27 January.
