Details of von Essen’s first London hotel has emerged.
Hotel Verta, due to open in the autumn, is part of the London Heliport complex in Battersea.
The 70-room property, to be unveiled to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the heliport, comes as part of the regeneration of the Thames riverfront.
Hotel, which will include 14 suites, is expected to create around 100 new jobs.
The design is to be inspired by the halcyon days of aviation featuring a double height atrium with sweeping staircase to the mezzanine level.
All of the 70 bedrooms, including 14 suites, are furnished in a classically modern style, each with original artwork and the finest bespoke fittings.
Conference and meeting facilities, with capacity for up to 200 delegates, will offer panoramic views along the River Thames.
Other features include a subterranean spa with gym, a restaurant with an al fresco terrace area and a lounge bar.
