Wyndham Hotel Group has appointed Chip Ohlsson as executive vice president and chief development officer for North America.
Ohlsson rejoins the company from Starwood Hotels & Resorts where he most recently served in a similar role as vice president of North American development.
A hospitality veteran of 22 years, Ohlsson previously spent a decade at Wyndham.
"It’s a homecoming for Chip, who began his hospitality career with us selling Howard Johnson and was part of the Wyndham family for more than 10 years in various roles," said Bob Loewen, chief operating officer for Wyndham Hotel Group.
"Our team has driven tremendous growth for our brands, and Chip’s return ensures we continue building momentum across North America."
In the new role Ohlsson will be responsible for development strategy of the 15 Wyndham brands and building strategic partnerships to expand its footprint in new markets.
