Accor announces new Directors
Accor Asia Pacific’s Corporate Sales team is set to take on a new look, announcing promotions in three key sales areas. The new appointments are part of changes designed to further strengthen Accor’s national account team and individual hotel sales teams.
Mark Pollard has been promoted to Director of Corporate Sales. In this role he will continue to provide corporate business development support and will assume responsibility for the key account management of Accor’s top ten corporate accounts. Additionally, he will manage Accor’s global corporate accommodation programs within Australia.
Joanne Morrow has been promoted to Director of Consortia Sales and in this capacity will assist in the development of market share from consortia accounts in Asia, in addition to her current responsibilities managing key consortia accounts and preferred supplier programs that.
Kristen Hawes has been promoted to Director of International Sales – Outbound. Kristen brings a wealth of experience with her having previously managed sales co-ordination activities for Accor’s global corporate accounts, and will now focus on the development of outbound traffic from Australia in both the corporate and leisure segments.
Accor’s Director of Sales – Australia, Andrew Loader, said the changes reflect an increased competitiveness in the market and a re-evaluation of how to best provide customers with more effective solutions to corporate accommodation needs.
“We identified the need for a more strategic approach to corporate account management and now have a specialist group of experienced account directors focusing on key client needs,” he said.
“Travel management companies will also benefit from the new structure which allows us to work more efficiently with them in servicing corporate clients.”
Accor is anticipating growth in corporate business of more than 20% in 2006 with its expanded range of Sofitels in key corporate destinations. Outbound traffic to Asia is also expected to grow substantially as Accor boosts its Asian network from a current 110 hotels to over 130 by the end of 2006.
