Advantage seeks ‘high-calibre’ non-executive chairman
Advantage leisure director Julia Lo Bue-Said has been promoted to managing director of the consortium.
At the same time, Noel Mansell, director finance has been promoted to the Board and his title changed to finance director.
Advantage is also looking to recruit a non-executive chairman from outside the organisation to work two to four days a month.
It said it was looking for "a high-calibre individual with the business pedigree to take Advantage to the next level of development".
The changes follow the departure of chief executive John McEwan in April. At the time of his resignation, Advantage said it would temporarily dispense with the role of CEO and the team would be led jointly by Lo Bue-Said and fellow executive directors Colin O’Neill and Ken McLeod.
However, Lo Bue-Said said the Board realised when it started its search for a non-executive chairman that it was necessary to have an MD. "The board wanted to ensure we were properly structured to take the business forward and no further changes to the executive team are required."
Chairman Ron Marks said: "Taking into consideration the future aspirations we have for the company, the directors believe it appropriate to seek an external non-executive chairman.
"Due to the scale and complexity of the organisation, and to establish a focus point for the central team, the board has also decided to create the role of managing director.
"The appointment of Julia as managing director recognises the talent within the organisation as well as providing stability and continuity. She will be supported by the executive directors, the excellent central team and the engaged and committed non-executive directors."
