Agents web usage up

DG&G is claiming its agency web information service a success after a seven-fold increase in usage.

The company claims that its Gazetteers Plus, a web-based information source for agents, received more than three million visits in January 2005.

Gazetteers offers agents a database of tour operators that can be searched by destination, property, operator or special interest to match a customer’s holiday requirements to the right holiday.

It also has information on weather, health and visa issues as well as independent reviews.

It is subscribed to by over 2,500 UK agents.

DG&G general manager Simon Ferguson said: “At launch in May 2004 we were serving around 500,000 pages a month, so a six-fold increase within seven months is impressive.”
