A Virgin Atlantic aircraft is due to land in Montego Bay this evening, carrying food packs and blankets to Jamaica in the wake of Hurricane Dean.
The airline may fly more relief supplies on Wednesday, if necessary.
Virgin is launching twice-weekly flights from Gatwick to Kingston in October, in addition to the twice-weekly service it currently operates to Montego Bay.
