Air India has revised down the minimum age limit for senior citizen discounts.
Now travellers aged from 60 will be able to avail 50% discounted tickets, which is down from the previous age limit of 63.
It takes effect immediately for all domestic routes.
Other rules remain unchanged, which requires evidence of a relevant ID document at the time of booking for Indian nationals or permanent residents only.
Other Indian airlines such as IndiGo and Spicejet already offer discounted travel for senior citizens aged 60 and over but the discounts are miserly in comparison at just 8% off base fare only.
