Air India was hit with a fine by India’s air regulator for alleged safety violations.
The airline was issued a $132,000 penalty and initiated ‘enforcement action.’
It follows a ‘comprehensive investigation’ by regulator DGCA.
It was for violating oxygen-related compliant requirements on leased Boeing B777 aircraft.
It related to long haul San Francisco flights.
An airline employee had initially raised the alarm about the safety violations.
Air India says it may appeal the fine.
A week ago Air India was hit with a fine as the DGCA concluded it did not roster the correctly qualified pilots for low-visibility operations during dense fog.
It said the airline rostered “non-CAT III compliant pilots” during low visibility days at Delhi airport.
