Thailand hospitality chain Dusit International is expanding its lifestyle-focused ASAI Hotels brand in Thailand with two new properties in the south of the country.
The company has signed hotel management agreements for ASAI Hat Yai and ASAI Patong Phuket, with the hotels scheduled to open in 2028 and 2029, respectively.
The new developments are part of Dusit’s strategy to grow the ASAI brand in destinations known for their vibrant local culture, food, and community experiences.
Designed for travelers seeking authentic local connections at affordable prices, ASAI Hotels combines compact, thoughtfully designed guestrooms with lively communal spaces where guests can work, dine, socialize, and relax. Each property is developed to reflect its neighborhood while partnering with local businesses, artists, and communities to create immersive travel experiences.
Since launching with ASAI Bangkok Chinatown in 2020, the brand has expanded to include ASAI Bangkok Sathorn and ASAI Kyoto Shijo in Japan. Dusit says the growing pipeline reflects rising demand for lifestyle hotels that blend comfort, convenience, and meaningful local engagement.
“Today’s travelers are increasingly looking beyond traditional hotel stays,” said Chanin Donavanik, Group CEO of Dusit International. “They want places that reflect the character of their destination while delivering memorable experiences without compromising on quality or value. The addition of ASAI Hat Yai and ASAI Patong Phuket reinforces our confidence in the long-term growth of Thailand’s lifestyle hospitality market.“
Located on Samchai Road in downtown Hat Yai, ASAI Hat Yai will feature 116 guestrooms designed for solo travelers, couples, families, and groups. Facilities will include an all-day restaurant, café and bar, coworking spaces, meeting rooms, and a fitness center, creating a social hub for both guests and local residents.
ASAI Patong Phuket will bring the brand to one of Asia’s busiest island destinations. Situated just five minutes from Patong Beach and about an hour from Phuket International Airport, the hotel will offer approximately 85 guestrooms, a ground-floor café and social space centered on ASAI’s Eat/Work/Play concept, a rooftop swimming pool, and fitness facilities. The design aims to capture Patong’s energetic mix of beaches, dining, entertainment, and local creativity.
Dusit’s international expansion continues later this year with the opening of ASAI Gamuda Cove near Kuala Lumpur in the third quarter of 2026, marking the brand’s debut in Malaysia. Additional projects are also planned in the Philippines with ASAI Oslob Cebu scheduled for late 2027 and ASAI Camaya Coast expected to open in late 2028.
