Airlines avoid Afghanistan airspace
Airlines have started rerouting flights away from Afghanistan airspace after Taliban forces moved into Kabul. British Airways and Virgin Atlantic said they are now avoiding the country’s airspace.
United Airlines has also revised flight paths away from Afghan airspace for its India flights. Laat month the US Federal Aviation Administration restricted airlines to flying no lower than 26,000 feet in Afghan airspace unless flying to Kabul Airport. The UK, Canada, Germany and France also advised airlines to maintain a similar altitude when flying over the country.
