Friday, 4 March 20163 min read
Las Vegas no frills carrier Allegiant Air has signed a partnership with NASCAR to become the motor racing organization’s first ever official passenger airline partner.
The multi-year agreement will see Allegiant as the presenting sponsor of ‘NASCAR Goes West’ on NASCAR.com.
The partnership was announced at a media event to publicize the Kobalt 400 taking place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend.
"We are pleased to partner with a company that will offer travelers convenient options to the majority of our race markets," said Steve Phelps, NASCAR executive vice president and chief marketing officer.
"Allegiant Air is committed to offering reasonably-priced travel accommodations and services that provide our fans an opportunity to make lasting memories at the track."
It is not Allegiant’s first foray into the world of car racing.
The carrier sponsors GMS Racing, which is personally backed by Allegiant chairman and CEO Maurice Gallagher.
Gallagher’s son is also a driver for the GMS Racing team.
"Allegiant is proud to announce this new partnership with NASCAR and NASCAR Goes West on NASCAR.com. We’re incredibly excited to share the convenience and affordability of our service with NASCAR fans across the country, helping them to more easily enjoy their favorite sport," ," said Brian Davis, Allegiant’s vice president of marketing.
