American Airlines is expanding service at its south Florida hub as it becomes the only US carrier to operate nonstop flights from Miami to Tel Aviv, Israel.

The Tel Aviv route will run three times a week starting 4 June.

It is also launching flights to Paramaribo, Suriname this summer as the airline ramps up fight capacity to Latin America.

The Surname flight will operate five times a week from 1 July.

The airline calls Suriname an ‘untapped market.’

"We’re going to have more and more flights to Miami, continue to grow and expand the hub, and give more choices to more people," said Vasu Raja, American’s Chief Revenue Officer.

"American Airlines has always been the biggest and the best in Miami, and as we recover from the pandemic, American will be bigger and better than ever."

This spring it is increasing flight frequencies to Port-au-Prince, Haiti and to Santiago and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Routes to Bogota, Medellin, and Cali in Colombia, and to Guayaquil and Quito, Ecuador will also be expanded with more flights.
