ANTOR to host cruise Seminar with the PSA

Will the destination be the future driving force of a cruising holiday? This and many more topical issues will be addressed at an ANTOR/PSA (Association of National Tourist Office Representatives /Passenger Shipping Association) seminar to be held in London on September 23rd 2008.

This joint cruise seminar, sponsored by TTG, will be held at One Whitehall Place, 2 Whitehall Court, Whitehall, London, SW1A 2EJ, from 0930 to 1545 and will be attended by cruise companies, tourist boards’, airlines, tour operators and travel agents.

This is the first time ANTOR, the PSA and TTG have worked together on an exclusive cruise event. Key issues – including the benefits of destination training and responsible tourism as they relate to cruise tourism will be examined.

Speakers including David Selby, Director of Cruising –TUI Travel Mainstream Division, Jo Rzymowska, UK and Ireland Managing Director for Royal Caribbean International, Carol Marlow – Managing Director & President – Cunard Line and Lingard, Marketing Director – Fred Olsen, will look at how building industry relationships is key to getting the most from cruise tourism.

Bill Gibbons, Director of the Passenger Shipping Association will address the seminar on the trends and growth of Cruise and River Cruising and how the cruising bodies such as the PSA, ACE and Tourist Boards can work together with trade partners, to enhance ports, cruise itineraries, and to assist destination Directors in the UK.

“ANTOR works particularly closely with travel industry partners on managing issues that impact on UK holidaymakers. Essentially ANTOR looks to provide tourist offices with a multitude of opportunities to promote their destination to the trade and public across all the different market sectors.

We are delighted to be working with the PSA and the TTG in examining this growing market sector. We hope this event will be the benchmark for subsequent seminars highlighting growth areas of tourism.” said ANTOR Chairman, Tracey Poggio.
