Astratis buys Travel Options
Distribution and reservations specialist Astratis has acquired Travel Options for an undisclosed sum.
Astratis said Travel Options will continue to operate independently but will benefit from being part of a larger group.
Travel Options has a customer base of 41 tour operators, increasing the overall customer base threefold.
All existing systems will be supported but over the next two years an upgrade joint development strategy will be introduced
Astratis Chief Executive Steve Watson said: “Astratis is on a major acquisition and product development drive.
“The demands on technology to satisfy the rapidly changing requirements of the travel industry are incredible. The acquisition provides the group with additional market penetration and specialised skills and services that Travel Options provide for its existing clients.”
The new joint company will be launched under a new brand at the Travel Technology Show at Earls Court, London, next week.
Astratis said the acquisition has made it the number ‘two’ provider of reservation and distribution systems to UK tour operators.
With its new product being released this year, it plans to be number one in the UK, but also in emerging Asian and Eastern European markets.
