BA increases long haul options
British Airways is to start flying to Calgary in Canada this winter as well as adding frequency to New York and Brazil.
The airline will run five flights a week from Heathrow to the gateway for the Canadian Rockies from December 1 using a Boeing 777.
Calgary becomes the airline’s fourth destination in Canada in addition to Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. Return fares start at £299 for bookings made by July 19 and thereafter lead-in at £575.
BA is also adding an eighth daily Heathrow-New York JFK frequency from December 1 and is increasing flights to Sao Paulo from seven to 10 a week from December 3.
Planning director Robert Boyle said: “We offer a more comprehensive schedule between London and New York than any other airline with three flights each day from Heathrow to Newark in addition to our JFK services.
“Brazil is an increasingly popular destination and we are adding extra capacity after air services talks earlier this year between the British and Brazilian governments approved more flights between the two countries.”
