BA plane gets makeover for Paralympians return
The British Airways plane which brought Team GB home from Rio has had a name change ready for its next mission.
The Boeing 747, which was named ‘victoRIOus’ to bring the Olympians home, has been re-named ‘BAckSupercharged’ ready for when it will fly ParalympicsGB home from Rio next week.
The team leave on flight BA2016 from Rio on Monday September 19 and arrive in to Heathrow Terminal 5 the following day at 9am.
Alex Cruz, chairman and CEO of British Airways, said: "It’s a privilege to once again be the official airline supporter to ParalympicsGB. Like the rest of the nation, we’re immensely proud of their success, and there’s still more to come!
"Our teams are working hard across the business to deliver another successful return for our heroes."
Fans can once again follow the aircraft’s movements on flight tracking website Flightradar24.
BA is the official airline supplier to Team GB and ParalympicsGB.
