British Airways’ surprised unsuspecting passengers at Heathrow Terminal 5 with a Christmas carol flash mob.

The airline’s choir sang a special re-worded version of Deck The Halls as passengers waited to collect their luggage.

The surprise performance was kicked off by cabin crew member Pippa Roblin, then other staff joined in, before joining the rest of the choir in the arrivals hall.

During the festive season, BA crew will be ‘spreading the holiday cheer’ by wearing Christmas jumpers and accessories, decorating aircraft and playing seasonal songs at 35,000 feet.

Here’s BA’s festive period in numbers:

10 British Airways flights will take to the skies on December 25

721 flights will operate on New Year’s Eve

Cabin crew will be serving over 100,000 traditional Christmas dinners, made up of:

450,000 brussels sprouts

360,000 roast potatoes

11,000kgs of turkey

135,000 mince pies
