BBC show will expose travel insurance scams

Tuesday, 18 October 20163 min read

Travel insurance fraudsters will be named and shamed in a twice-weekly BBC show starting today.

Fraud specialist Simon Cook, who is head of special investigations at claims and medical assistance group CEGA, will look at far-fetched travel insurance claims, ranging from fabricated deaths and muggings, to doctor and patient collusions.

"Travel insurance fraudsters come all walks of life and include doctors, celebrities and even solicitors," he said.

"But I want to let potential fraudsters know that there is nowhere to hide and their scams will be uncovered in all four corners of the world."

He will appear on Claimed and Shamed twice-weekly for the next four weeks.
