Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts re-launched its Value Rate scheme yesterday, and is offering travel agents an extra 5% commission for bookings.
The scheme asks guests to pay the published, rather than discounted room rate in return for a number of benefits, which vary according to whether it is a city hotel or leisure resort. Agents making Value Rate bookings up to 30 November, will receive a commission of 15% rather than the usual 10%.
At city hotels, guests get complimentary broadband internet access where available, American breakfast, dry-cleaning and laundry service, local calls, round-trip limousine service, all fax and IDD calls at cost, and late check-out at 6 pm.
At the group’s resorts in Fiji, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore, guests paying the published rate receive buffet dinner at a designated restaurant, non-motorised water sports, American breakfast, laundry (excluding dry-cleaning), local telephone calls, IDD calls and faxes at cost and an extended 6 pm check-out.
Value Rate is available at all Shangri-La and Traders hotels, all year, with the benefits applying to any length of stay.
