Green Tourism Zimbabwe initiative set to benefit even more tourism businesses, communities and visitors see video HERE

Nowhere could be a better place for them to be. During difficult years they have kept the faith with their local communities and now both businesses and communities are set to share the rewards with visitors.

At African Bush Camps (who own Somalisa Camp and Somalisa Acacia in Zimbabwe – both now graded Gold with Green Tourism) support is given to orphans, single mothers and schools in their community through their foundation.
Wilderness Safaris, long known for its corporate and social responsibility programme has also indicated its support for the green tourism growth in Africa.
Closer to hand the KAZA initiative (Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area) which includes Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Angola and Botwana would be a logical step for Green Tourism.
The conservation area includes lodges in a major part of the Upper Zambezi basin and the Okavango basin and Delta. It incorporates notable sites such as Chobe National Park, Hwange National Park, the Okavango Delta in Botswana and the Victoria Falls.
A global green showcase would substantially increase visibility of this stunning area, created through a co-operation of Peace Parks Foundation and WWF ,with incredible natural assets and vast herds of elephant.
You’ll be seeing more of them soon.
This current global tourism marketing situation combined with the need to manage emissions and resources , is making available a great swathe of massive opportunities…
SustainableTourism2016 sets these challenges out in detail in its folio and vodcast – and offers the opportunities with updates on a weekly basis.
