Bmi regional launches new routes
Bmi regional has launched its first new routes since becoming an independent airline and says it is planning to add more European services for both business and leisure travellers next spring.
From October 29 the airline will expand its offering with new flights from Bristol to Aberdeen and Manchester to Antwerp. Both services will operate twice daily.
British Airways parent IAG sold bmi regional to Sector Aviation Holdings earlier this year and the airline is currently operating under a transition agreement.
Flights can still be booked at flybmi.com and they are operating under the old bmi flight numbers, but from the end of October the carrier will adopt its own BM flight designator and open its new website.
A statement on the new bmiregional.com said: "The introduction of these new routes demonstrates a clear statement of our intent to develop the business going forward and the additional flights will offer customers greater choice and flexibility when travelling directly as well as providing additional onward connectivity."
The Bristol-Aberdeen route is already served by Eastern Airways via Leeds Bradford, while bmi regional will replace Air France subsidiary CityJet on the Manchester to Antwerp route, which the French carrier is giving up.
