Boardroom exodus at Jet Airways

Embattled carrier Jet Airways is not only grounded but also currently rudderless.

In the space of less than a day four top two executives stood down.

Following the resignation of deputy chief executive and chief financial officer Amit Agarwal, CEO Vinay Dube has now quit.

"We wish to inform that Vinay Dube, chief executive officer has resigned from services of the company with immediate effect due to personal reasons," Jet Airways said in a regulatory filing.

Both had cited ‘personal reasons.’

Indian-American, Dube joined jet 18 months ago and previously various leadership roles at Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and GDS provider Sabre Inc in the US, Europe and Asia.

Dubay’s departure was quickly follwed by the rsignations of chief people officer Rahul Taneja and company secretary and compliance officer Kuldeep Sharma.

Agarwal stepped down at the beginning of this week.

Several other executives have left since Jet Airways ceased operations a month ago, including founder Naresh Goyal.

Following Argawal’s departure Jet’s share price declined again by 7%.

The exodus will do little to calm its workforce which is still awaiting several months’ salary.

"We are clueless as there is nothing left now. Not even hope," said a senior employee of the company.
