Booking.com opens offices in US
Online hotel reservations company booking.com has opened two US offices – in New York and San Francisco.
The company said the openings were further commitment to its business expansion in North America.
Michaela Baier will move from the company’s Amsterdam head office to head up the US offices.
A 21-strong team has been recruited both locally, in addition to a couple of internal promotions from Europe.
Baier said: “This is an exciting time for Booking.com as the strong Euro and longer vacation days of European travellers as well as growth in the European online market provide a lucrative business opportunity for hotels in the US, Canada and Mexico.â€
Booking.com is part of priceline.com and sold 19 million hotel room nights in 2007, experiencing an organic annual growth rate of 82%.
