Brisbane lockdown could be extended beyond Easter holidays
Travel restrictions in Queensland and more disruptions to flights could continue into Easter and beyond. Brisbane’s lockdown could spread to the holiday destination of the Gold Coast, with eight new Covid cases reported on Tuesday.
Greater Brisbane will remain in lockdown until at least Thursday night, and a decision on extending the lockdown beyond this will be made on Wednesday evening, said Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.
Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia cancelled dozens of flights in and out of Queensland capital Brisbane. At the moment out of state travellers can fly into Brisbane as long as they are travelling elsewhere in Queensland.
