A British couple have died after their car came off the road in south-west France.
Richard Lucas, 85, and his wife Mary, 83, from Lincoln, were travelling towards the village of Brantôme on Friday morning when their car came off the road on a bend and plunged down a gorge.
The car landed upside down in the river Dronne and the couple are believed to have died from drowning.
The couple were well known in the nearby village of Paussac-et-Saint-Vivien, where they had a holiday home.
