British skier dies in Alps
A British man has died after falling from a cliff in the French Alps.
Authorities say he was among three skiers who ventured off-piste and got lost in the Alpe d’Huez resort.
Mountain rescue spokesman Francois Bepol said the group took off their skis to try to climb upwards but the cliff was ‘steep and icy’ and two of the men fell.
The second man was rescued uninjured and the third, who had not fallen, was unharmed.
Sky News reports a 13-year-old boy also died after falling from a cliff in the French Alps, in a separate incident.
The boy fell from a cliff near Avoriaz ski resort, about 160 miles from Alpe d’Huez.
