Budget carrier Cebu Pacific launching Hawaii flights

Tuesday, 25 November 20143 min read

Fast growing Philippines low cost carrier Cebu Pacific Air will launch a Manila-Honolulu route in 2015, according to a Department of Foreign Affairs statement.

The inaugural flight to the Aloha State is slated for the middle of 2015 and will operate three times a week, but no further details have been released yet regarding flights times or start date.

Cebu Pacific’s only other US route so far is to the island of Guam.

Philippines aviation was upgraded to Category 1 status by the US Federal Aviation Authority earlier this year allowing Philippine carriers such as Cebu Pacific to bid for direct flights to the US.

Cebu Pacific has expanded aggressively into markets in the Middle East, North Asia and Australia in recent months and is reportedly eying further routes in Japan and New Zealand.
