Canada, Mexico border restrictions extended for another month
The Department of Homeland Security once again announced a further suspension of nonessential travel across borders with Mexico and Canada.
Travel restrictions will continue for another month through 21 Match.
It applies to foot passengers, vehicles, as well as rail and coastal ports of entry.
Restrictions will have been in effect for an entire year.
The travel curbs cover nonessential travel for tourism and leisure but exempt certain essential workers and the flow of goods across the borders.
"To protect our citizens and prevent the further spread of Covid-19, the United States, Canada, and Mexico are extending the restrictions on nonessential travel at our land borders," the DHS tweeted.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said: "These measures will last in place as long as we feel that they need to last."
