Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet of ships is now 27-strong.
The line received its latest upcoming Italian-style fun ship, the Carnival Firenze.
It was handed over by Italy based sister brand Costa Cruises and has gone straight to drydock in Cadiz, Spain.
The ship will undergo a 60-day refurbishment, receiving signature Carnival amenities and the Italian-style facilities already live on the line’s first Italian fun ship Carnival Venezia.
“We welcome Carnival Firenze to the Carnival fleet. The beauty of Florence, Italy is about to meet the fun of Carnival Cruise Line,” said Carnival President, Christine Duffy.
The ship will be outfitted with dining themed venues like Il Viaggio, Carnival’s newest specialty Italian restaurant and a Mexitalian fusion restaurant.
A Festa Italiana deck party experience will be available on the ship as well as signature Carnival amenities such as the Serenity Adult-Only Retreat and Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse.
The ship already has quintessential Italian features like the main atrium which is inspired by Florence’s Piazza del Duomo.
When the refresh is completed, Carnival Firenze will homeport in Long Beach offering short Catalina Island and Ensenada cruises.
It will also sail longer Mexican Riviera itineraries to Cabo, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlán.
