Carnival Cruise Line has named hospitality veteran Richard Morse as senior vice president of hotel operations.
Morse will be tasked with overseeing entertainment functions, food and beverage operations, housekeeping, and guest services.
He joins Carnival on January 11, 2016, and reports to Gus Antorcha, the line’s executive vice president of guest shipboard operations.
"Richard is the ideal candidate for this position, possessing extensive experience in all aspects of guest operations, while assembling a talented team for one of the world’s most successful hotel companies," Antorcha said.
"His wide-ranging experience, outstanding management skills and commitment to innovation will be of great benefit."
Morse joins Carnival after a 36-year career at Marriott International, where he most recently served as general manager of Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Maryland.
He has also held management positions at New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square and the Renaissance Miami Biscayne.
Other senior positions held by Morse include regional vice president of Renaissance Hotels for the eastern US and area vice president for Marriott’s Select Service and Extended Stay properties.
