Carnival Cruise Line will christen its newest ship Carnival Horizon.
The 133,500-ton ship, scheduled for delivery in March 2018, will be its second Vista-class ship alongside Carnival Vista, which began sailing in May this year.
Horizon is currently under construction at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Marghera, Italy.
The cruise line said Carnival Horizon will have many of the amenities found on Carnival Vista such as a SkyRide, WaterWorks aqua park and IMAX Theater but also a ‘number of new innovations unique to this vessel’.
"The name Carnival Horizon not only reflects the ship’s unique connection with the sea with so many spectacular indoor and outdoor spaces but also the boundless array of options that guests of all ages are sure to enjoy," said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
Homeport and itinerary details will be announced at a later date.
