Carnival offers ‘thoughts and prayers’ for missing security guard
A security guard is still missing after high winds tore Carnival Triumph from its dock in Alabama.
The man was one of two security guards at the BAE Shipyard whose hut was tossed into the Mobile River by near-hurricane-force winds.
The other man was saved by the Coast Guard.
The Triumph drifted for several hours before being secured at the Alabama Cruise Terminal.
It has been at the shipyard since February, after a power failure left it drifting in the Gulf of Mexico for five days.
"The search continues for the second pier worker," Carnival said in a statement posted on Twitter. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the missing shipyard employee and the family."
Carnival had planned to keep the ship out of service until June, and improve its ability to operate on backup power.
