Channel Islands choose name for Condor ferry
Condor Ferries has named its new, state-of-the-art ferry Condor Liberation.
The name was chosen to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Channel Islands.
It was chosen by a judging panel following a naming competition held in the Channel Islands, which received 7,146 entries.
Clive Davies from Guernsey came up with the winning name and will receive a year’s free travel with Condor Ferries. He will also have the opportunity to visit Condor Liberation to see the name he chose being painted onto the ship in Poole.
Condor Liberation is currently in Poole undergoing a full internal customisation fit out, including a new duty free shop, children’s play area, information desk and range of eating and drinking outlets.
From the end of March, all journeys to the Channel Islands will be on Condor Liberation from Poole.
