China Eastern Airlines orders 100 China-made aircraft

China’s nascent plane making industry just got a big boost.
China Eastern Airlines just made a big order for another 100 C919 aircraft worth $10 billion at list prices.
This would be the largest order so far for the jet
It is made by plane maker COMAC.
Deliveries of the aircraft are expected starting next year through 2031.
China Eastern commercially launched the jet in China earlier this year.
The airline currently operates three C919s and will take delivery of two more this year.
China Eastern shared the delivery schedule for the new planes.
It will receive the first five aircraft in 2024, and then at least 10 each year from 2025 to 2027.
From 2028, 15 C919s will be delivered each year, with the remaining 20 jets arriving in 2031.
The C919 is a rival to single aisle jets such as the Boeing 737 Max.
Brunei-based GallopAir recently announced it would buy 30 COMAC aircraft worth $2 billion.
