CLIA president steps down for personal reasons
Little more than a month after starting work as president of Cruise Lines International Association, Thomas P. Ostebo has stepped down.
Ostebo, a former US Coast Guard Rear Admiral, has resigned for personal reasons, CLIA said.
He replaced Christine Duffy, who left to become president of Carnival Cruise Line.
"While it is unfortunate that Tom is departing CLIA, his desire to put his family first is a testament to his character, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors," said CLIA chairman Adam Goldstein, who is also COO at Royal Caribbean Cruises.
"CLIA’s current leadership team is doing an outstanding job supporting our membership and driving the vision of the organization globally, even during this time of transition."
A CLIA statement said executive vice president of membership and operations Cindy D’Aoust will become acting CEO until a permanent replacement is appointed.
