Destinations double up for cross-Channel promotion

The tourism organisations of the Kent resort of Folkestone and its across-Channel twin town, Boulogne-sur-Mer, are teaming up to showcase the ‘unique Channel Region’ at this year’s World Travel Market.

It is believed that it will be the first time a trans frontier destination will be represented at resort level at WTM.

“Working with our colleagues of the Communaute d’Agglomeration du Boulonnais will provide a great opportunity to present a unique two-country destination to generators of business looking
for new ideas,” said Chris Kirkham, of the Folkestone, Hythe & Romney Marsh tourism marketing organisation:

“The Channel Region offers an abundance of heritage and scenic attractions as well as the experience of different cultures and languages.”
