Engine fire prompts American Airlines emergency landing
An American Airlines flight was forced into an emergency landing with an engine on fire.
A suspected bird strike sparked the engine fire shortly after takeoff.
Flight 1958 traveling to Phoenix was forced to return to Columbus, Ohio.
Flight crew reported a possible bird strike as the cause.
It landed safely and all passengers deplaned without any injuries.
However it was a ‘terryfying’ ordeal, passenger Marnie Kallestad said.
