Europe’s ski resorts get snow
Ski conditions are looking up in Europe after a heavy drop of snow this week.
The Alps and Scandinavia have seen a significant amount of snow fall since New Year’s Day, but in the Pyrenees resorts are still relying heavily on artificial snow.
Al Morgan, information manager for the Ski Club of Great Britain, said around half a metre of snow has fallen in the main Alps resorts and in Scandinavia, the first major drop since early December.
“It’s really good timing. With Christmas and New Year out of the way, people are now much more focused on the actual skiing,” he said.
“The Pyrenees are still a bit dry but the Alps and Scandinavia are looking good.”
