Expedia agents take on the world

SYDNEY – Figures from the Expedia Travel Agents Affiliate Programme worldwide have shown Australian travel agents hit third spot in booking values in comparison to other larger and more established markets worldwide.

In the last week Australian travel agent bookings placed through Expedia.com.au outsold established TAAP markets such as Germany, France and Canada.

Only the Italian and UK markets had greater booking value than the Australian market.

New Zealand agents using the TAAP achieved fourth position also indicating a great acceptance of the product across the Tasman.

“If the real estate mantra is position, position, position, the travel mantra is product, product, product”, claims Stuart Udy, manager of Travel Agent Distribution for Expedia APAC.

“Of course service is important, of course trusted client relationships are important and when you combine those things with a fantastic suite of products, you can’t help but be successful.”

Expedia TAAP was launched in Australia on March 1 this year and more than 2,000 travel agents have access to the system.

The programme provides agents a tracking code which enables them to make bookings on the Expedia website and earn substantial commissions.

The Expedia Affiliate Programme is free to join for a short time.
