Fans allowed in for Kentucky Derby but capacity slashed
Racing fans will be allowed in the grandstands of Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby next month but it will look very different. The normal 150,000 crowd will shrink to a social distanced 23,000 this year. That’s just 14% of normal capacity.
Even race programs will go digital. There will still be onsite in-person betting and there’ll be more than 1,000 hand sanitizing stations at the racetrack.
