For conventions, this retreat is a real one
Here’s an unusual place for meetings: a 46-year-old seminary in Ohio.
After $1 million in renovations, the 37-bedroom residence hall at The Methodist Theological School near Columbus now doubles as a conference space while at the same time accommodating its students.
Since January, the space has hosted about one group a month, usually no more than 30 people, said Columbus Business First.
Non-profits have so far been the only users, but the corporate world is also welcome, said seminary officials.
Since meeting space is rare in the Delaware County area, the new space is welcome, said Patty Geiger, spokesperson for the area’s CVB.
The price is right.
Non-profit groups are paying $45 per person a night and another $25 for all meals.
