Indonesian Flag carrier Garuda Indonesia will add more flights in 2016 to meet demand for travel to Bali from major Chinese cities.
Garuda president director Arif Wibowo said the airline will target cities with the highest demand for flights.
"Garuda can deploy aircraft to markets with big resources," Arif said during a media briefing at the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) Assembly of Presidents in Nusa Dua, Bali.
New flights will connect Bali with Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai next year he said.
Garuda will also boost Umroh and Haj pilgrimage flights to the Middle East with additional departure points from Balikpapan, Makassar in Sulawesi, Surabaya and Medan.
Solo in Central Java was also another possibility, Arif said.
Garuda, host of the AAPA Assembly this year, saw average airfare yields drop due to the weak currency, a problem many Asian airlines are facing, said Arif.
This is despite a 13% rise in passengers for the year to September, to more than 17 million.
The chief executive also said the company will soon decide between Boeing or Airbus for an estimated $9 billion order of 30 wide-body jets by the year end.
The carrier signed letters of intent with both plane makers at the Paris Air Show earlier this year.
