Palm Springs Tourism Bureau is celebrating Marilyn Monroe’s life following the unveiling of a 26ft high bronze and stainless steel statue of the Hollywood icon.
Created by American artist Seward Johnson, the statue depicts an image from the film The Seven Year Itch and highlights the film star’s connection with the resort of Palm Springs where she was discovered in 1949.
The tourism bureau is using activities to celebrate her life and visitors can pay homage at the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
