UK operator, GoldTrail is to start selling holidays through Viewdata, and direct to consumers through a website.

The operator, which offers holidays to Turkey, Malta, Egypt and Tunisia, has chosen TravelOptions’ technology. Gold Trail already use the Agency Distribution Download, but from early 2003, agents will be able to book holidays live.

GoldTrail says it had added the distribution channels to enhance relationships with agents.

GoldTrail is to sell on Viewdata from January, and has already launched a website to sell direct to consumers which will be bookable from Q1 2003. It has also announced its intention to launch a commissionable trade log-on facility in the future.

The operator estimates it sells 17,000 holidays a year, and claims to be the UK’s largest independent operator to Turkey.
