Green Travel Summit announces second annual event
Unicomm LLC, the creators of the largest series of travel events in the United States, announced the second annual Green Travel SummitTM will take place at the Willard Intercontinental in Washington DC, June 10-11, 2010.
“The objective of the event is to give travel executives the knowledge to equip them to deliver the CSR matrix for strategic advantage while demonstrating their impact on the bottom line. The business functionality and ROI focus will enable practitioners to implement a program that can be incorporated into the overall Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy (CSR) of their organizations” said John Golicz, CEO, Unicomm LLC.
The Summit will explore green travel strategies and their impact on business travel management, corporate meetings and incentives by bringing together the leading experts on sustainability. This year, the forum will be extended to also examine the trends, case studies and way forward for practitioners of corporate social responsibility.
“The Green Travel Summit will serve as a critical component of the education process bringing together thought leaders and futurists to share information and best practices,” organizers say. “It will also serve as a vehicle to construct a value proposition and sustainable business strategy that delivers sound sustainable outcomes.”
The second annual Summit comes on the heels of a successful 2009 event which was attended by corporate travel managers, meeting & incentive planners, CSR directors and industry suppliers representing such companies as Northrop Grumman, British Petroleum, Symantec, Sabre Holdings and AMR Research.
The Summit will assemble 350 executives from a cross-section of the travel industry including corporate travel managers, airline, hotel and ground transportation providers, meeting and incentive planners as well as travel marketing executives and destination marketing organizations.
Sessions will focus on topics such as measuring green efficiencies, green meeting guidelines for the private and public sector, the greening of the supply chain and leveraging green travel initiatives with employees and others.
IHG has joined the event as Platinum Partner; Wyndham Hotels Worldwide and Concur as Silver Partners; SkyTeam as Official Airline Alliance Partner, and Boeing Commercial Aircraft and TRX as Bronze Partners. Nelsen Travel Media has come back onboard as the Premier Media Partner of the summit and the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) as co- sponsor.
