Cruise arrivals were also up by 8%, the Hawaii Tourism Authority said.
All four larger Hawaiian islands saw increases in both spending and arrivals in February.
"February was an outstanding month for Hawaii’s tourism industry that reflected the combined impact of strong travel demand and increased air access from our primary and secondary markets," said HTA CEO George D. Szigeti.
The HTA recorded a total of 51,646 visitors specifically for meetings, incentive trips and conventions, which represents a rise of 7.6%.
Of these, visitors attending conventions grew most, up nearly 15%.
"The $1.52 billion in visitor spending that poured into the State’s economy also generated $375 million in state tax revenue, which puts Hawaii more than $29 million ahead of last year’s pace through two months."
