Hawaii considers standardized Covid travel rules
Hawaii lawmakers are assessing a bill that would fully standardize the state’s pandemic travel rules across all islands. The island of Kauai operates its own rules after opting out of the ‘Safe Travels’ program.
Although Kauai has the lowest number of Covid cases, it has the highest unemployment rate with the tourism sector heavily impacted due to its stricter travel rules. The measure would require all counties to allow travelers to skip all quarantine with a negative pre-arrival Covid-19 test.
