Hawaiian Airlines suspending interisland services
Due to weak travel demand Hawaiian Airlines is temporarily suspending interisland ‘Ohana by Hawaiian’ services.
From 1 November, the airline will halt flights from Honolulu to Molokai and Lanai as well as cargo-only services between islands.
Flights to Kapalua in Maui have been grounded since March.
"While we are disappointed at being unable to avoid the service suspension, this is a difficult situation for both Hawaiian and Empire Airlines as we navigate an incredibly challenging period," said Peter Ingram, Hawaiian President and CEO.
The services could resume if another round of payroll support funding is signed off and disbursed by the federal government.
It will leaves Mokulele Airlines as the only service still operating between the islands.
The airline is contacting affected customers to provide refunds.
